New year ahead...

Hi all! It has been quite a while since my last post, but here I am. End of the year is usually the busiest time for me and the last one was no exception. I had 3 (Hurray!) contracted designs there were due almost simultaneously through December 1st the last one. Then add up to the count orders of beaded stitch markers from my Etsy shop and I had days jam pack of work.

January is getting to the end and I already sent 1 more contracted design out. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bragging about it. It is the sense of accomplishment when I'm able to tell you about my work. The design career is very rewarding but the span in time between producing to publishing the design is rather long...

Starting Monday I plan to come back and keep working on the projects planned to be included in my book. Did I already tell you about the book? Well... Yes, me, yo, Andrea Graciarena is writing a book, a technical book filled with designs. I can't actually write, again, much about it at this point, but I'll be dropping sneak peeks from time to time. It's going to be fun!

New knitting design - Raspberry Beret from Caron International Yarn

What a nice surprise. Raspberry Beret just got published and it looks even prettier than I remembered it :-) The yarn used to knit this up is called Caron Simply Soft Party, in a fuchsia shade. This yarn has a hint of sparkle and a very soft touch as well.

Is is worked with only one skein of yarn on the round from the bottom up. It's an easy project to work and could be a very cute gift for sure. Hope you give it a try. Candela already asked me for her to knit one of course, and she is already digging in my stash of yarn :-)

New Double-ended crochet design - On the bias scarf

One of my designs has been published in the Crochet World Magazine, October issue. The On the Bias Scarf is an eye catching yet easy to crochet project. The dynamic of the self-striping yarn combined with the diagonal effect of the pattern stitch makes the scarf one-of-the-kind.

The best part is that you can adapt the pattern to your desire, if you like to make the scarf wider, just add some extra stitches to the count and get a stole looks like or wrap effect, on the other hand if you like to shorten the length, just work less number of rows, it is an easy project to customize to your preference. The yarn weight is great, helps the scarf to be airy and lofty.

The Double-ended crochet technique use a special type of tool, the hook anatomy is basically a straight shaft with no thumb rest and a hook head in each of both ends. This allows to work with 2 strands of yarn alternately.

Got the magazine copy a couple of days ago and the pics are fantastic! Hope you like it as well :-)

Love of Knitting - The knitting shop feature

Where do I begin? Everybody knows by this time that I love designing, I always have to have some WIP in my car or a project bag ready to be grabbed when I need to carpool my daughter to dance lessons or running back and forth from one place to another...

What I really love as much as my projects is fancy knitting notions to work with. A few months ago one of my dear friends said... I love those (markers) I don't know exactly why you use them but sure they are pretty... That was my lightbulb moment, since then I've been hand crafting colorful and snag less stitch markers.

Love of knitting magazine has featured my shop showing an assortment of stitch markers in their Fall Issue. It is part of "the knitting shop" section.

The magazine is full of new ideas from quick projects to more elaborated ones. Take a look when you can, you won't regret it :-)

Dulcinea shawlette

It has been a while since I've posted any news about designs. That doesn't mean I'm taking a sabbatical year, its because I need to keep things hush hush for a while until the right time arrives and the designs get published.

In the meantime I've been busy working on some design ideas which I intend to publish independently. And this is one of them: Dulcinea Shawlette. A summer accessory to cover your shoulders at the office or those evening in town when a cami or strapless calls for help. Tunisian crochet project worked in two sections, the body is worked from the bottom up and then comes the lace edge sideways.

New crochet design - Florencia lace shawlette

WOW it is finally out! I published this lace crochet pattern accessory a few days ago and the feedback I already got is overwhelming.

The design concept when I created this shawlette was first and foremost an open stitch pattern, very drapery, feminine with a touch a vintage delicacy. The yarn chosen for this project was a lace weight yarn, this time Knit Picks Shadow, merino wool was the answer, but this project could be done with other laceweight yarn of your preference.

The edging has a vintage flair which gives the romantic note to this design. Is has been worked using the joined-as-you-go technique where each and every fan is completed before you move up to the next one.

First sneak preview from my new mini-collection of lightweight designs

It's my very first time posting sneak photos, so please bear with me. I've been holding on to write about my new crochet designs and the whole idea is getting in shape, so is no better time than the present to write about it. I want to tell you all, but then again I want you to be surprised when the designs get published, pictures are gorgeous, the projects are a dream to wear, and I need to keep them just for me until the release day... Believe me, this is much harder for me than for you :)

Above is the first of a few in which I've been working since late last year. It's a mini collection of light weight projects. Some highlights: the use of charts, I can't help it, they are my best friends, and I'll make them yours as well; minimum ends to weave, but we'll talk about this in my next post...

New knitting design: On the Trail Vest from Caron International

One of my designs On the trail Vest has been published a couple of days ago at Caron International. and is available for free to download. It is a vest worked from the bottom up back and forth in stockinette stitch, but the fun part is just about to start. It features a collar which is worked using a mosaic stitch with 2 different colors that gives to the vest a very interesting look.

It is published indeed! The Winter Posies Lap Robe from Caron International is finally available.

The texture, the flower's definition, the colorwork is absolutely great. It is worked flat, every two rows the posies are completed and after that the yarn change to the second color.

The photo shows the pattern stitch details. The edge is worked on the round.

FabMo Textile Art Boutique at Quadrus Conference Center

This Saturday FabMo is having the Second Annual Textile Art Boutique at the Quadrus Conference Center (2400 Sand Hill Rd, Menlo Park, CA) and I'll be there showing my new line of project/organizer bags!

I've been working on two new mid-size designs. One of those is perfect to travel with, to hold a skein of yarn and a WIP, or to carry personal items like make-up or others that needs to be kept together. The second design is a pouch made out of silk with cotton lining and zipper for closure.

The reversible silk bags are also part of my display. They are as gorgeous as functionals. Hope to have time to sew a couple more by Saturday.

It's going to be a great event.

New knitting design: Broomstick Ruana from Knit 'N Style

I'm so excited! One of my designs made it to the Knit 'N Style December issue, courtesy of Caron International. Its a Ruana, worked flat from the bottom up and seamed on the shoulders. Is the interesting trim at the bottom which gave the name to the design.

It's the look of the traditional crochet broomstick stitch, but this time is worked on the two needles. The body is done using some lace pattern stitch which generate vertical lines. Ideal to elongate the figure.

It can be worn as a ruana or wrapped around the torso, or with a belt and it is transformed onto a long tunic.

A very trendy piece to be part of your wardrobe this season.

Stitch markers - new colors!

It's true, sometimes a successful item comes alive to resolve a truly personal need. I started doing these stitch markers for me, and only for my own willingness to find a light, airy, and mainly/mostly fancy stitch marker. Didn't look much around, instead I started my hunt for materials to create them.

My inventory is growing everyday, adding new colors like Ocean blue and Light green, and Pink.

Two tone aqua blue heather gray merino wool fingerless

A few days ago I bought some new shades of the merino wool yarn. One that particularly caught my eyes was the aqua blue. I'm partial to almost all kind of blue shades.

I added to the project a classic heather gray color from my stash. Both colors are very current this fall-winter season and work wonderfully together. The result is a gorgeous pair of fingerless hand warmers.

I'm so thrilled! One of my designs has been published today at NaturallyCaron.com It is a wrap using a beautiful open lace crochet stitch worked in Country yarn. The lower edge has a ruffle making this wrap very feminine and current.

I love the way it is shown on the photos specially the following one using a belt to transform the wrap into a vest, great way to keep the shoulders covered and the arms free!

New knitting pattern: Catalina slouch beanie

This hat is my latest pattern. I got a stitch dictionary book a few weeks ago and I'm all over it trying new stitches and I found this wavy pattern. The stitch is easy to memorize after a few rounds and the texture is incredible. Because I chose a bamboo blend worsted weight yarn for this project the yarn can easily be changed for another with 100% wool content or other animal fiber and the blocking would be more defined.
It's a quick project even for a gift. Catalina slouch beanie is ideal to accessorize mid-season outfits.

Mastering the construction of the pouch, here is a new and improved one. The outer shell is a combination of two 100% silk fabrics; the lining is a sample of 100% textured cotton which fits perfectly with the overall pouch look.

The silk samples are great to work with. It's like a puzzle where you get to match small pieces to get a much bigger material, just to then start thinking the shape the project will take. It's not an easy task though, but it's so much fun!

I finally was able to list these 3 gorgeous organizer bags. It took me quite more time than expected but they are finished!
The concept behind these bags is about re-purposing materials, how to reuse upcycled fabric, samples from designer catalogs and giving them a totally new life. It's a very rewarding feeling that these pretty bags are made with fabrics that otherwise would go directly to the landfill.
Each bag has its own measurements and distinctions depending on the fabric/samples that I'm working with at that time.

It's coming the time to start wearing lightweight clothes and also protecting your skin and head from the sun. I love to crochet and knit hats for Candela, she always looks cute in them, this time is no exception.

Functional and fashion, that's the concept in mind when I design accessories and garments. The yarn that I've chosen is a bamboo blend DK yarn, perfect for warm weather and easy to care.

Marisol summer slouchy hat has a beautiful open cross texture, ideal for spring/summer time.

New knitting design: Gabriela slouch hat

I've been working with my knitting needles trying out some slip stitch patterns to generate different textures . The variation that can be achieved with the use of slip stitch is extraordinary and the fabric you get looks intricate, interesting, labor consume (we can agree in that), but with a great texture.

This type of stitch is commonly used to work multicolored knitting fabrics like mosaic knitting when you can work one color at a time making your work easy with an outstanding result.

Even though my design is mono-color, this time its all about the texture.
This slouchy hat, which I call Gabriela slouch hat, knitted with a DK weight, wool/silk blend yarn is a weekend project but you'll find it so current that is going to be part of your wardrobe for a very long time.

Candela modeled it for me and she looks trendy in it, doesn't she?

My new line of stitch markers

This year Stitches Wes t was really empowering for me. See, I love to visit the Stitches West Market floor, there is so much to choose from, from new yarns, textures, new color palette for the upcoming season, to the latest published books, just everything to make your mouth water and to keep your eyes wide open all the time.

One of the sections that caught my attention: the shawl pins, and those accessories like stitch markers, knitting needle gauge others knit/crochet supplies that make our life easier and our wardrobe prettier.

So I decided to give it a try (again) to my jewelry pliers and beads. I usually makes jewelry gifts for my friend. But this time I started pulling together wire with beads, gemstones, and freshwater pearls and the pins came along nicely. Then, markers time.

I love color, (who doesn't?) some like the more subtle tone, some others prefer more vivid and striking ones, so I bought a wide range of colored wire to start working with.

New Tunisian crochet design: Ocean Vista dress

I'm so excited. One of my designs, the Ocean Vista dress has been published by Annie's Attic.
This dress won 2nd Place last year at the 2009 CGOA Design Contest.
The design concept when I created it was just keep it stylish, wearable and modern. I am very pleased how it turned out.

Less than perfect pouch

Let me just say that what it seems a 3 seams project sometimes needs more attention to the details.

I started this pouch with one design in mind and finished a totally different one. It was a side gusset pouch decorated with silk bias tape, the zipper was meant to be sewn as a later step on the sewing process finishing the pouch top with a bias tape all around the zip.
It turns out that the side gusset experience was not the most successful at all. I ended up sewing the traditional zipped pouch. Even though I really like how it looks (at least I can use it), I still need to master the technique.

Well, I have more fabrics to play with.

Project bag!

My latest sewing project. Yes, I leave the hook and knitting needles aside just for a couple of days to work on this idea: project bags!

It's been a while since I got these fabrics (some of them upcycled from designer sample catalogs, some others I bought at the fabric store), and it was about time to put the engine to work, the design concept was pretty much around, and the fabrics were there waiting for me but, when I can squeeze some spare time?, oh free time...So after all here it is, finally a reality.
It is already on my Etsy shop.

The fabrics are plain gorgeous. I started collecting them since last year, and it is no better time than present time to make more of this!

New knitting design: Rosaura cowl-capelet

It has been a while since I bought this yarn but I was sure this yarn would look great on a knit project. I decided to do a cowl-capelet combo design.
It is knit on US 10.5 (6.5 mm) circular needles from the top down in one piece with 2 strands of sport weight yarn held together throughout. Chunky lace and cables gives this design an interesting texture. You can dress up any outfit with it!!

It features pearl buttons for closure. As you can see, you can play around how to button them up. You can fully crossed the neckband and it will hug your neck on a chill day, if you fasten all 5 buttons on the edge you can wear it as a capelet, and finally for those special occasions when you need to look more sophisticated, just fasten a button and you’ll have a pretty collar to emphasize your shoulder.

Two tone fingerless hand warmers set

Candela loves wearing hats year long, cotton and bamboo blend yarn for summer, fuzzy and warm one for winter. This season I crocheted first the hand-warmers, adult size for my shop. It was a design inspired on a vintage pair of gloves I remember my grandmother had on her treasure drawers with embroidery details over the knuckle. Then of course I made one pair children size for her. That gives me the idea to complete the set with the slouch style hat which turned out quite nicely. What I love about this set is that is a 1 day, 2 skeins project, ideal for a gift. After she went through my stashes she already chose another color combo for her next set.

Currently I'm working on the instructions. Hopefully they will be finished by Christmas.

Loving Tunisian crochet lace stitches

I've been spending quite a time trying new stitches using the Tunisian crochet technique. I'm fascinated with the results so far.
It's a great and vast technique, and lately it's getting more and more popular.

One of my latest accessory is this merino wool Shoulderette, which I called Ana Shell shoulderette. It is a combination of lace Tunisian stitch, then the use of knitting needles to finish the yoke.

Currently, I'm working on a new design also done in Tunisian crochet. Let see if I can post a sneak preview soon...

Two tone fingerless hand warmers

Today I listed my latest design in my shop: the Two tone fingerless hand warmers. It is a multicolored, technique combo project ideal for the upcoming chili season.
The lower band is made using Tunisian crochet on the round, adds to that 2 striking colors and voila! a beautiful interesting pair of warmers for your hands. Reminds me the leaves falling on the street during this season, the Chinese maple tree and its gorgeous shade of burgundy, orange, ochre...
I started playing with another color combos, next in line is a beautiful lilac wool yarn that bought today at the local shop. Candela was with me at the store and she also chose a shade. Also, there is a beautiful blues shades combo, cobalt-sapphire blue with soft light one. Gorgeous!

It was my very first time attending the Knit and Crochet Summer Show.

PDD (Professional Development Day) was a serious, business oriented, and informative day.

All the Conference was loaded with excitement, camaraderie in a very friendly environment, sharing tips, discussing techniques, making crochet the focal point of all sessions, and conversations.

Friday was a very special day for me too. During this trip I met in person my mentor and established designer Kim Guzman. It was so great having the opportunity to talk with you, specially about Tunisian crochet :-) !!

I met so many kind crocheters, so enthusiasts with so much energy that I am already thinking about next year's Conference.

Heading to Chain Link Conference

Almost there, but not yet.

I'm taking care of the last minute details to get ready for The knit and Crochet Show Summer 2009 at Buffalo (NY). I have two lists. One is the "To bring to Chain link" which is most already done.

The other list is about what "To see and buy at the Conference".

Have a personal schedule loaded with all the classes I'm registered in and events.

On Wednesday is the CGOA Professional Development Day, huge day piled up with a wealth of info.

On Thursday is the time for Darla Fanton "Teacher Workshop", from which I've heard very good input. That evening comes The CGOA Design Contest Award Presentation, one of my original designs is part of the contest, cross fingers for me please :)

And every day is full of events to interact with other designers, publishers and editors.

I can keep going and going but I prefer showing you when in site with photos and new post.

I am very excited!

Christmas in July - SALE

It is so much fun having Christmas at Christmas time (hello!!), gift giving, one of my favorite moments, family gatherings, good food.., all that is great but lets get real, sometimes you just can't sniff your face out of the house. If you are lucky you enjoy the snow, in my hood is more common to see rainy days.

Summer season completes the scenario of perfect timing, good outdoor parties, family in a pretty good mood, kids on vacation and excellent weather! Cannot ask for more.

I'm getting anxious waiting for the last weekend of May. During May 30th and the 31st, San Mateo County Expo Center will held a large Do it yourself Festival: the Maker Faire Bay Area.

It is a family oriented festival where you can learn the how to of innumerable new techniques, living toward a greener environment, enjoy great foods, art and crafts, music, and more... much more.

I'll be there too, this time teaching crochet at The National NeddlArts Association - TNNA booth!! If you have a chance to stop by you won't regret. Bring your family and you'll find some very interesting activities for each of them!

Angel lace bolero - Tunisian crochet pattern

Finally is done! The latest pattern I was working on is finished, and published!

The bolero is worked in the Tunisian crochet technique, from the top-down in one piece keeping finishing at a minimum. It features three quarter sleeves and a metal clasp for closure. The yarn chosen for this project is a worsted weight kids friendly cotton blend yarn for easy care (51% cotton, 49% acrylic), if you want to replace the yarn, please check out the gauge as guidance.

The pattern stitch is very easy to follow throughout the project and the texture is very open and drapery. Its a huge (at least for me) accomplishment the lace achieved with this technique, the overall result is impressive. Candela loves it!!

For the past few days my shop has been featured.

It is a great feeling seeing my shop highlighted, from great artisans that I respect. Spanglish team is a real true team in all the extension of the word, everyone participating with a positive attitude, always looking for new ways to bring our brands, our craftsmanship, our designs concept to the world.

Handbagcave wrote a new post: "PRETTY THINGS - Monday sellers you have to know", and I was, to my surprise, included in such talented etsians group. Awesome!

Relay for Life

Since a few years ago, we participate regularly in the Relay for Life, a fundraising event from the American Cancer Society. This time was even more special for us. My mother in law is a cancer survivor and she walked along us during the event. Very emotional moment indeed.

How to help prevent cancer: Below is Candela sharing her Pledge of no smoking to prevent her from lung disease. It was entirely her idea and I am very proud seeing her getting involved in serious matters at an early age and expressing her opinion.

I received a box full of yarns

I'm happy.

Yesterday when the package arrived I was so excited. There were three different yarns, one is a mohair-wool-nylon blend, then the 100% alpaca yarn, and the other one is a merino-baby alpaca-silk blend yarn.

As designer we plan ahead of time our projects, those could be either mini collections or individual designs, then its time to make the prototype, and last but not least come the time of writing the instructions. When the designs are ready it is time to publish them, and it is a good idea to "present" them in society two to three months before the season officialu stat, so the public have enough time to actually make them and wearing at the right season.

All that process probably would take at least 6-8 month (sometimes even more), so when the designs hit the streets we are already working in the next season.

I already have a couple of ideas in mind. Will start working on them soon.

Hairpin lace loom

Yesterday I finally received my hairpin lace loom. Now I just need to figure it out how to use it!

I will start posting photos of my first attempt getting into this technique. The hairpin lace's look is gorgeous, feminine, very drapery, and it is very versatile too.

What did I see being worn:

I saw a variety of gorgeous handknit and handcrochet accessories and garment. There were stunning shawls, delicate from the simplest to the more intricate lace pattern, made from the lightweight, web cob, to the novelty yarns, very colorful and subtle too, gorgeous sweaters, some vests, and of course wraps.

Imagine a huge and continuous Fashion Runway, in all and in each Aisle. Picture that and now you can have a better idea of it!

What did I see on vendor's booth:

A lot a hand-painted and hand dyed yarn, natural fiber yarn and natural fiber-blend yarns too. One of the hank that caught my attention was one silk based yarn spun with Swarovski crystals, beautiful!

Spinning wheels, roving, hand carved brooches, and others extras to lurk around.

The camaraderie, the smiles, the grace with that knitters and crocheters sit around a table, grab the needles or hooks and keep creating and talking with each other, totally extrangers and totally kind with the next lady or gentleman (also) sited beside them.

It was my pleasure to be part of this Event.

Oh my god!!

Stitches West 2009 is around the corner. In just about a week I'll be there amused with all the new yarns, books, and people to meet in that event. Everybody is writing about this huge Convention that takes place in Santa Clara, CA. It will be my first time in this Event and I am very excited to actually be there. The excitement is even bigger when I can be able to match faces with the names from people that I interact online in forums and now I'll have the pleasure to meet them personally.

During the past weekend I just realized that this Saturday we'll celebrate Valentine's Day.

I share life with a very special man, he is of course my heart's owner, and we exchange some gifts from time to time, nothing big neither fancy, just gifts we think the other would enjoy. But for this special day I like to give him some thing different.

I didn't buy him the present yet, but I'll do that tomorrow.

Well, there we were during the past weekend talking about the upcoming celebration and I came up with the design of this scarflette. It is very open and airy, silky, and feminine...

It was a beautiful Concert

I have a very special daughter. Today it was her second Concert, the first concert was held at the Local Art Fair last spring playing the recorder. This time the event had place at her elementary school and, for the first time, she played the trumpet. It is a powerful instrument and kind of heavy to hold, let me add.
She loves music like all kids do, she sings and has fun with her friends, but play an instrument gives her the sense of rhythm and music variation that you acquire when you practice over and over again. It was a beautiful presentation!

What can I say, I am a proud mom.

Rombos wrap

Finally I can officially tell you about my very last project!!

I bite my lips all the last few days, it is a wrap crochet in a gorgeous color and using a soft wool blend yarn, the open work stitch makes this wrap drapes on your shoulders. It is perfect for the upcoming season.

The yarn that I had chosen is a worsted weight yarn. The stitch is very easy to work and the wrap builds up fast. Because of the nature of the stitch used the wrap is very flexible and adaptable.

Double Top Horizontal stitch (DTHS)

The double-ended crochet is a technique that works with a special hook which has a head at each end.
There are two different hooks. One kind of hook (either wooden or metallic) usually is 10"-14" long; the other hook on the market has flexible cord made by plastic (shown on the picture bellow). The last option is common to be used when you need to work a wide project like a throw.

This technique has been around for a long time, and it can be founded under different names too like cro-hook, crochetnit, and crochet on the double.
Crocheting from both ends, allow us to change colors and (unlike knitting) the fabric is reversible.

Stitches
There are hundreds of different stitches, from the easiest to more complex. You can find books with stitch instructions and tutorials that provide step by step of how to do them.
Two are the most common stitches for working Double-ended crochet:
*Double Simple stitch - DSS: Working through the vertical bars
*Double Top Horizontal stitch - DTHS: working through the top horizontal bars

Warm me in one - Knitting pattern

This hat –cowl combo project is ideal for a cold morning and a sunny afternoon, making this “warm me in one” a versatile project in your wardrobe.

To wear only as a hat, flip the cowl up over the hat and wear it as the hat brim. To wear as a hat with a cowl, pull the cowl over the head, and wear the hat as usual. The double rib stitch makes it reversible too.

Bright red collar neckwarmer - Double-ended crochet pattern (Cro-hook)

Hi all,

Just finished another of my winter patterns. It's a beautiful collar that doubles as a neckwarmer.
I've started working in this project last week and it turned out better than expected.

This pattern is worked with a worsted weight yarn and is shown in Patons Classic Wool Merino. If you want to replace the yarn, please check out the gauge as guidance.

The color is a rich bright red and the yarn is very soft. The black buttons look striking with the rich red and makes the collar really versatile to wear it.

The double-ended crochet technique (also called cro-hook or crochenit), is great to work with. The final product's texture is just amazing .

Rose bobble neckwarmer

Just a brief description about my newest item. It's a neckwarmer combining Tunisian crochet and crochet technique. It's an easy project but look terrific when you wear it!!

Vee short vest - Tunisian crochet

I'm finally conquering one of my WIPs.

Yes indeed, I've started this project a month ago when I bought the yarn. Then I had to put it aside to finish some of the others with a real deadline (which I did). This vest was on and off of my workspace all this time. Now I can say that almost 80% of the work is already done, but not completed.
It's a combination of stitches and 2 different yarns that make a huge statement together.

This project has to be done and ready to wear for the upcoming Thursday. I'm planning to show it off in a Conference.

Blue sky shrug

One morning I was just browsing around at my LYS, undecided about what kind of yarn I wanted to buy, what type of project I wanted to tackle on and in the middle of my thoughts I saw these blue yarns, very eye catching. I didn't think twice and I started picking them up, different shades of the same color, they blended well with each other, so the design caught me instantly. It was the Blue sky shrug's conception!

The yarn used in this project is a worsted weight yarn (Caron Simple Soft). It's a friendly project and the final shrug has a very "relax/upscale look" even though it's lace design, it can be worn either with blue jean and flats or with a skirt and a pair of high heel boots. It's a win win project!

Ruffles cross neckwarmer - PDF Tunisian crochet pattern

It's finally finished!!

This project was done after a couple of day's break. I had to complete another project and this was put on hold into my "To be finished" list. But it was worth the wait!!

All the project is Tunisian crochet in one piece and with the same hook throughout. Just add beautiful buttons like the ones above (I found them in my LYS). I'm preparing my Christmas gifts, and this one is definitely mmmm... mine.

This pattern is relatively easy, the body is built up fast and then comes the fun part: the ruffles.
It's very versatile too, because you can button up or just close a couple of them and you are always going to be warm and elegant.

Fuzzy Shell Scarf - PDF Tunisian crochet pattern

This Fuzzy Shell Scarf is Tunisian crochet using a bulky yarn and a big hook; the short edges are finished with beaded fringes to add extra sparkle.

The idea of this design came when I bought only 1 skein to test color. I love the way black is combined to the white, not to dark neither to light, soft texture with a perfect color contrast.

The pattern is a combination of 2 different stitches all across. It’s an easy to follow, very quick project. It can be worn as a cowl using a brooch as closure.

Easy chunky neckwarmer - PDF Tunisian crochet pattern

This neckwarmer is Tunisian crochet using a bulky yarn and a big hook.

I came up with this design when I saw this Rowan Chunky print yarn at my LYS, I bought 2 skeins of Corinthian color. Turns out a great neckwarmer the texture, warmth, and colors work well and only used 1 skein. I'm now thinking my next project with the last skein.

The unique detail on the buttons line makes this neckwarmer one of a kind piece for the cool days.

The yarn has been discontinued, but you can use another bulky yarn or two strand of thinner thread held together throughout to get gauge.

Twisted taupe wrap - Tunisian crochet pattern

Just finished this wrap. It took me 3 nights of Tunisian crochet but it was worth it. The variegated yarn looks gorgeous and the texture is stunning.

The colors in this yarn are light blue, soft taupe and a hint of white. They blend wonderfully and the final result speaks out by itself.

Morning warm wrap

I've been knitting and crocheting for a very long time and lately I've started writing my own patterns. I hope I could upload all my project to my blog. Fingers crossed I will!

This is a a wrap that I handmaded with Tunisian crochet hook. The colors are on the brownish and beige side of the color wheel. Keep it neutral and you are going to have a current wrap for very long time...

The yarn is very fuzzy and works up fast. The yarn is a combination of a main thread variegated lengthwise and is attached a white strand.

It's a combination of 3 different TC stitches, and it's a very easy to follow pattern.

The inspiration for this kind of accessory came thinking about crochet some special project with a beautiful yarn.
